Headquartered in Shanghai, China Eastern Airlines Co., Ltd. (CEA) is one of the three major airlines in China and could be traced back to the first squadron established in Shanghai in January 1957, and is the first Chinese airline to be listed on New York, Hong Kong and Shanghai stock markets.
 
 
As a member of SkyTeam Alliance, CEA has extended its flight network to 1,036 destinations in 170 countries and regions via close cooperation with SkyTeam Alliance member airlines. The annual passenger turnover of CEA exceeds more than 130 million, ranking top 10 among global airlines. Eastern Miles members can enjoy the membership rights of SkyTeam's 19 member airlines and more than 790 airport VIP lounges worldwide.
 
 
CEA operates a modern fleet of over 730 aircraft, which is one of the youngest fleets in major airlines worldwide. Moreover, it boasts the largest-scale in-flight Wi-Fi wide-bodied fleet with leading commercial and technical models in China.
 
China Eastern owns two domestic core hubs in Beijing and Shanghai with four airports, and regional hubs in Xi'an, Kunming and other cities. The scope of business in China covers all airports at municipalities and provincial capitals as well as those with above 10-million-passenger turnover. At present, CEA operates 111 domestic and overseas branches across the globe. In recent years, CEA has successively launched new routes along the Belt and Road, plays a positive role in building a Silk Road in the air.
 
 
Focusing on providing high-quality aviation transport service, CEA is committed to becoming a smart air travel service supplier and has achieved zero accident rate in ten years. In recent years, China Eastern has won awards at home and abroad in the fields of operation quality, service experience, CSR, etc., including the Flight Safety Diamond Award by CAAC - the highest flight safety award in China, nine consecutive years of Top 50 Most Valuable Chinese Brands by the world's famous brand rating agency WPP, four consecutive years’ nomination of “Global Top 500 Most Valuable Brand” by UK's brand rating agency - Brand Finance, two consecutive years of Top 20 Chinese Enterprises Global Image Award-ranking first in the transportation industry. Additionally, China Eastern got the A rating in the latest ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) criteria and listed the first place along with other five airlines, according to global index compiler MSCI.
 
 
China Eastern is always committed to fulfill its social responsibility and takes an active part in humanitarian and relief missions for passengers and freight transport.
 
 
China Eastern has been conducting fixed-point poverty alleviation in Shuangjiang County and Cangyuan County, Lincang City, Yunnan Province through aviation support and industrial development for several years, so as to help two counties shake off poverty and push forward rural revitalization.
 
 
China Eastern achieved 2 million tons of carbon emissions reduction during the 13th Five-Year Plan(2016-2020), and steps up efforts to implement “green flight” strategy so as to win the battle for a blue sky.
 
 
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, China Eastern has operated the first flight of civil aviation to aid Hubei as well as the first international medical charter flight, and has undertaken more than one-third of the anti-pandemic transportation tasks of civil aviation in China.
 
 
China Eastern makes every effort to serve the resumption of work and production, the stability of the production and supply chain, the dual circulation of economic development through a series of innovation, including "customized charter flights", the largest-scale "passenger-to-cargo" fleet transformation in civil aviation and “fly at will” ticket discount package.
 
 
Despite the pandemic, none of more than 60 million passengers and 100,000 employees of China Eastern has tested positive for COVID-19 due to air transport by the end of 2020.
